The Magna Energy Storage Project
The Magna Energy Storage (M.E.S.) project responds to increased global demand for Li-ion batteries. This increased demand is due to a significant reduction of price for photovoltaic panels needed for the construction of photovoltaic power plants as well as to the fact that, in general, there is also a widespread deviation from traditional power generation (such as nuclear or fossil fuel production) replacement of electricity from renewable energy sources (such as sun and wind).
These new energy sources, however, place increased demands on the distribution network, which is often exposed to large fluctuations. It is causing blackouts on the transmission network. The absence of a battery that allows economical storage of energy on a large scale is currently a brake on the further development of energy and the production of renewable energy.
